Are My Trees Safe?
November 19, 2018 | Frontier01
After Saturday afternoons storm we know this is something on the minds of many of our customers.
Only a qualified AQF L5 Arborist can provide you with an accurate written assessment and make appropriate recommendations.
All Frontier Tree Services quotes are provided by a Level 5 Arborist, qualified to assess and provide written advice on the condition of vegetation. Our quotes will only ever include works our Arborist deems necessary. If it’s not needed, we won’t quote it.
What to Look for
If you see any of the following and are concerned about your tree, phone us on 5574 4477 and book your free quotation today.
- Dead branches / broken hanging branches
- Cracks or splits in the trunk where the branches are attached
- Cavities or rotten wood along the trunk or in major branches
- Loose Soil around the base of the tree / movement in the soil
- Branch dieback
- Yellowing or browning on leaves
- Fungus or mushrooms growing on or around the tree
What can you do to help prevent your trees from becoming dangerous?
Soil Management is an important part of tree care and can easily be done at home. Keep your trees well nourished by applying organic fertiliser or compost to the soil after heavy or long periods of rain where mulch and soil nutrients can be washed away.
Correct pruning will remove dead or damaged branches and reduce wind resistance in stormy weather. Only an Arborist will know what limbs to remove and how much to reduce the canopy by. Taking too much off could have the opposite effect and increase its risk of failure. Always engage a qualified Arborist to undertake pruning work.
